Gangneung residents’ exceptional love for coffee has made Gangneung the city of coffee. It’s coffee culture began when Park Yi-choo, Korea’s first-generation artisan of brewed coffee, opened a cafe “Bohemian Roasters” in Gangneung, and the coffee craze spread throughout the city along with the coffee factory “Gangneung Terarosa”, and “Coffee Cupper Museum”, which houses a coffee farm and a coffee museum. Accordingly, several baristas have been produced in Gangneung, as well as cafes and roasteries, supplying coffee across the country. Visitors can enjoy high-quality coffee anywhere in Gangneung, which has the largest number of cafes in Korea compared to the population.
